Poland - Marzanna

Hello from Poland. Yesterday (Mar 21) we said goodbye to winter and we welcomed spring. Similarly to Slovakia, our tradition is to make a kind of a doll - a symbol of winter, which we burn and throw into the river. It's called Marzanna. It seems that it helped a bit cause since then the sun is shining, but still waiting for higher temperatures (now around 0').

We also had fun cause we had pyjama party, as we were pretending to wake up from hibernation ;)

Slovakia - Preparing Morena

Hello from Poprad. What a crazy week. It´s cold outside again... Thermometer shows -3, at night -11. We were preparing Morena during this week, we were learning short rhymes about her... hope we will throw her into the river at the beginning of next week,,, and the Spring can finally start :) Thank you for showing us the pictures of your schools, cities and countries... our children know Poland because of its proximity ... we often go to Poland for shopping... as well as Turkey, because it is a favorite tourist place of the Slovaks ... new were information about Romania, but when I mentioned the Count of Drakul and Transylvania, everyone said yeeeees :) Check out the photos we made during the week:

Turkey - More photos

Hi again :)

Today I got some pictures from my students.
Hope that you enjoy looking at them.

Greetings from Turkey to all of you!!!

Poland - Getting to know eachother

On March 16, except for looking for spring we were getting to know our partners better. We saw your photos, looking for your countries on a map and colouring your flags! We had a lot of fun - just take a look at the photos below.

In Poland it looks like winter is back, but hopefully only for short time. We even have a proverb that March is like a pot - cause it mixes winter and spring weather.
